Who?
I’ll write from the 1st person here. I’m Julia Josephson, a life-long (although my life isn’t that long) Chicagoan who loves to eat. The reason behind that is because I find that food brings the best memories, and that is why I started Juji The Foodie. Aside from spending my days writing and editing the blog, I enjoy baking, spending time with friends and family, and even playing field hockey every so often. I have two dogs that I love dearly, and a twin sister who loves to give me feedback on my work. My parents, Kathy and Kevin, are great supporters of my work, helping to pay for the website and taking me out to great meals wherever we may be (thank you!).
This blog means so much to me. I’m proud to say that it’s something of my own, something that challenges me, and something that I enjoy. Sharing food and some of my favorite memories allows me to reflect on some of the greatest moments of my life, and I do not take that for granted. I hope that through my work, not only will I inspire others to eat where I eat, but to enjoy it and reflect on the memories.
Why?
Juji The Foodie was started in Julia’s small bedroom amidst her battle against COVID-19. Bored while locked in her room, yet somehow not exhausted, she reached for her computer and found a website creator. She spent her week in isolation creating this very website, thinking of a name, coming up with article pitches, and then getting to work promoting her new project. The work didn’t end there. Julia continued to expand the blog, creating and managing an Instagram account @jujithefoodiechi to recommend her work and restaurants she loves. To preserve her project, Julia has continued writing and editing the website as she sees fits and as she navigates the journey of being a teenage food blogger.
As she heads into almost four years of Juji The Foodie, Julia has finally created her tagline that expresses the true message behind the blog: memories and food make the best meal.
